Wednesday 26th March. The funnel, having had a pair of lifting eyes welded to it, is lifted clear and removed from the ship, complete with the upper parts of the exhaust systems and the top of the engine room casing.

 

 

The Primary silencers are removed revealing a view of the Sirrons not seen for well over 50 years!

 

Where the paint was removed to weld on the lifting eyes, a cross-section through time is visible as a layer by layer list of Balmorals' funnel colours.
