Descriptions

Viewed from Dry-dock bottom adjacent to Waverley’s rudder looking forward down the port side. This dry-dock is of unusual construction in that it has a timber bottom and sides. The scaffolding has been erected to give access around the ship on three levels for shot blasting and painting.

Viewed from midships on the port side towards the bow, Project Director Ian McMillan surveys the current hull condition prior to shot blasting. The paint has flaked off the hull at the top of the picture, not holes as it appears!!.

An unusual view taken from the middle level of scaffolding.

Another view looking aft on the port side. Meanwhile work is progressing on blasting inside Waverley’s Boiler Room and Engine Room.

External view showing Waverley in the dock with scaffolding and tented areas for protection during blasting, survey, steel renewals and painting.
